In any case, at least the creature design is inspired and very well integrated into the setting.ĭon't be fooled by the quote: the setting proposed by Hellpoint is that of deep space, true, but it maintains the social detachment and decadent tones typical of Dark Souls. Another one sore point of the enemies is artificial intelligence: really too poor for a game released in 2020. It didn't make me crazy that they don't have unique drops and that some are then repurposed as standard enemies after the first encounter taking the model, shrinking it and throwing it into subsequent maps seemed a bit too lazy to me. ![]() The same cannot be said for the bosses who, of course, can be faced only once and block access to areas or elements that are important for progression. While some prefer to take only a few details and bring them into their works only on a purely conceptual level, others make their works real celebrations of these elements. The creative process of an author is unlikely to be totally independent of external influences and life lived, but the weight of these elements can vary widely.
